Music and Media - Lab Rules


1. Please do not install new software or change major configuration settings without prior approval from the instructor.

2. Keep all food and drink of any kid (including water) away from the workstations. If you need to consume anything, please go outside the lab.

3. Once you finish using a workstation, please return everything to its original location, and shut off all devices if you are the last user.

4. Do not save your work on the workstations; please use a floppy disk, CD-RW, or other re-writable media; alternatively, an online repository for storing your information will be made available.

5. Immediately report hardware or software problems to the instructor.

6. As a shared work area, please keep the volume of discussions at a reasonable level, and try not to disturb your fellow lab users.

7. Internet use in the media lab will be strictly limited to project-related work. DO NOT USE THE LAB MACHINES TO CHECK YOUR EMAIL, CHAT, PLAYING GAMES, OR FOR ANY NON-CLASSWORK RELATED ACTIVITIES.

8. The School enforces legal protections provided by copyright and licensing of computer programs and data. No copying of any software from the computer lab will allowed; any user caught making illegal copies (or attempting to load pirated software onto the lab machines) will be subject to disciplinary action.

9. All lab workstation hardware must remain in the lab at all times.

10. These rules can and will be amended to as necessary by the Instructor to ensure the educational benefit of all class participants.
